Hesperidin is a flavonoid found in the rind of citrus fruits (such as oranges, lemons). The peel and membranous parts of these fruits have the highest hesperidin content, especially in immature little citrus fruits. Hesperidin is responsible for color and taste of citrus fruits.
Hesperidin, a flavanone glycoside (glucoside) composed of flavanone (a class of flavonoids) hesperitin and a disaccharide rutinose. Flavonoids are polyphenolic in nature and are known for antioxidant action.
Hesperidin in combination with a flavone glycoside called Diosminis used for the treatment of venous insufficiency and hemorrhoids.
